Love the typography in the bigspy mode!
But why does it start to fill from an empty screen when opened? Shouldn't the news flow all the time like a river?

thanks :)
you expect on initial load for it to be top to bottom filled with news items?
the reason the news flows from the bottom is because this project was inspired by digg labs and thats how theirs was designed

I liked the Swarm - but constant moving of bubbles sometime becomes the click and find game - but loved it.

Really fun to watch. I liked that the lines between stories are the paths the diggers fly, not topic links.
Curious: did you think about linking stories that share a topic? Or is the randomness on purpose?
I'm building something similar that links news, people and places, so this was nice to see.
