Capitalism gonna capitalism. Why would an "industry" act in the way this writer views as normatively good?
I am surprised there aren't better worker protections in the UK to prevent getting laid off so quickly.

The protections only kick in after 2 years. That’s about to change to 2 months. But neither would cover redundancy which is what this very much sounds like. Really bad luck for the OP. Not sure it’s AI related though. The whole team were played off.
