Common questions
Do I need an account to start?
No. Choose **Keep local-only** on signup and use Noteika entirely on your device. Sign in later when you want cloud backup and sync across web and mobile.
Can Noteika read my notes?
No. Your notes are encrypted with a passcode only you know before anything is stored or synced. If you forget your passcode, we cannot recover your notes — that's the tradeoff for real privacy.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Save, browse, and search your vault without internet. When you're back online, cloud sync uploads any changes you made while offline.
What can I save?
Anything text-based: AI prompts, Q&A threads, links, code snippets, meeting notes. Paste once — Noteika figures out how to display it. No categories to pick at save time.
How is this different from Notion or Obsidian?
