Install / FAQ
Before you install it.
Tape Music Suite is built around the local library you already maintain. These are the practical questions that come up before installing the hub and pairing the app.
05 / 06
01 Why not just sync files to my phone? Manual sync works until the library changes. Tape Music Suite keeps your phone connected to the folders, playlists, and tracks you keep working on, without exporting a separate copy every time.
02 Does it work with messy folders and DJ metadata? Yes. The suite starts from the archive you already maintain: folders, playlist exports, crates, covers, and metadata. The point is to use your existing library instead of rebuilding a clean catalog somewhere else.
03 Will it change or break my music library? The listening and pairing flow is designed around your existing files staying where they are. Tape Music Suite sits on top of that archive so your desktop library can remain the source of truth.
04 Can I try the phone flow before buying? Yes. Download includes a trial — 20 hours or 30 days — then a V1 or Lifetime license. Add your folders, pair the phone app, and try the basic flow before you buy.
05 Do I need a VPN? No. Personal Private Network is built into pairing, so a licensed hub can reach paired devices away from home without a VPN app.
06 What happens if my computer is asleep? Your computer is the hub, so it needs to be on and reachable while you listen. If it sleeps or loses network access, the phone cannot stream from it until it is available again.
07 Is this for DJs, collectors, or technical users? The suite is for DJs and collectors with serious local libraries. You do not need to know server software: download the desktop hub, keep the computer on, pair the phone, and use your archive.
